Behavioral Health Specialist (Internal title: Clinical Care Coordinator)

Overview We are a values‑driven organization providing family‑oriented behavioral health care for children, youth, and families primarily in their own homes and communities. The Clinical Care Coordinator will work in the homes of families and in community settings across Pierce County, Washington. Relocation Assistance Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Responsibilities Meet and engage families with compassion, support, respect, and enthusiasm. Provide or arrange crisis response and stabilization services and communicate safety plans with families and others. Prepare families for next steps in intervention plans, including team development and natural supports. Customize approaches to fit each family’s uniqueness, culture, and interests. Deliver intensive, strength‑based therapeutic mental health services to children, youth, and families, including safety assessment, treatment planning, crisis planning, and ongoing evaluation. Brainstorm and negotiate strategies that build on family strengths. Consult with supervisors and mental‑health specialists and incorporate recommendations. Maintain productivity and documentation standards, ensuring complete, accurate, strength‑based records. Respond promptly to crises in a collaborative manner. Facilitate therapeutic responses supporting the overall plan (individual and family therapies). Utilize parent/family expertise in problem solving around specific needs. Modify intervention techniques as needed without changing the overall plan direction. Facilitate placement into foster care when required, completing necessary paperwork and notifications. Assist the team in implementing the care plan from the outset. Reevaluate, modify, and redesign plans based on new information. Inspire confidence in children, families, and team members regarding strengths and successful transition. Arrange and negotiate ongoing services and support plans. Create and practice after‑care plans for post‑involvement support. Participate in an on‑call rotation with other clinicians. Provide services in community‑based settings and family homes, requiring scheduling flexibility and reliable transportation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, behavioral sciences, or an equivalent accredited degree. Experience serving children and/or families in mental health, social services, or education. Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to work effectively in multicultural settings. Energetic, innovative, and engaging style for working with children, youth, and families. Enthusiastic, optimistic approach encouraging ongoing participation. Strength‑based approach, valuing unique qualities and assets of all involved. Passion for helping families stay together. Independent work ability and strong teamwork skills. Ability to assess safety visually within family homes. Ability to meet clients in homes and community locations. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, and an acceptable driving record. Preference for a flexible schedule rather than a traditional fixed 8‑5, Monday‑through‑Friday position. Willingness to participate in on‑call rotation. Benefits Starting pay range: $33.06 – $36.78 per hour. Collaborative supervision and daily/weekly support. Coverage after hours: $1,800 per year. Performance‑based pay up to $8,000 per year. Bi‑lingual fluency stipend for Spanish and English (or other languages) ranging from $100–$200 per pay period. 12 paid holidays plus one personal holiday per year. 3 weeks vacation per year. 12 sick‑days per year.
