The position involves providing specialized inpatient care to neonatal patients in a supportive, physician-led environment. The Nurse Practitioner/Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will perform comprehensive inpatient care to neonates. Responsibilities include conducting neonatal assessments, daily rounds, and ongoing management of critically ill and premature infants. Collaboration with on-staff Neonatologists for patient care planning and management is essential. Participation in multidisciplinary rounds and coordination of care with nursing and ancillary teams is required. Utilization of Epic EMR for accurate and timely documentation is part of the role. Family education and counseling regarding neonatal conditions and treatment plans are necessary. Support for stabilization and ongoing management of high-risk newborns will also be part of the duties. The schedule is flexible, consisting of 24-hour, 10-hour, and 8-hour shifts. Practice will occur within a structured, team-based environment. Compliance with hospital protocols and quality standards must be maintained.
