ABOUT THE POSITION

Meridian is seeking a Manager of Student Health and Wellness for school year 2026-27 school year. The Manager of Student Health and Wellness will oversee psychoeducation, prevention, and intervention services and programs that address students' physical, social, emotional, and behavioral health needs. The person in this role manages social workers, clinical staff and collaborates with administrators, operational staff, and teachers. Using the Multi-tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) framework, the Manager of Student Health and Wellness, supports the implementation of evidence-based, multi-tiered interventions that support student success and provides programs to support overall student wellness.

This position reports to the Director of Student Support Services. The Manager of Student Health and Wellness will be responsible for duties in the following areas:

• Lead the Student Wellness Strategy and Coordinate Wellness Services across PK3-8th grade
• Identify school-wide or classroom trends in physical, social, emotional, trauma, attendance, and behavioral health needs and provide recommendations regarding student policies and systems related to student wellness;
• Provide a tiered approach to school mental health and wellness programming that includes programs for suicide prevention, bullying prevention, and social-emotional learning;
• Maintain a robust professional network through collaboration with clinical and health education professionals;
• Develop student programming in mental health, truancy prevention and intervention, nutrition, and physical activity;
• Serve as crisis interventionist; conduct student safety/threat assessments, interventions, and referrals;
• Coordinate services provided by community partners offered to students and families on campus;
• Act as the MKV and Foster Care Liaison, collaborating with CFSA and other agencies to support students' transportation, attendance, and support services for students with housing insecurities and within the foster care system;
• Collaborate with families by sharing relevant resources, building a strong home-school connection with individual families, and making referrals to community agencies;
• Collaborate with Finance to manage the support (fiscal) of MKV (i.e. field trips, picture day payments, etc.);
• Collaborate with agencies to provide referrals or actual supports;
• Represent student wellness needs as a member of the Student Support Services leadership team;
• Maintain accurate data and records relevant to planning, implementation, and evaluation of student wellness services including overseeing health and wellness surveys for families;
• Adhere to the ethics and values of the Social Work and/School Counseling profession and practice according to the NASW Code of Ethics, Professional School Counseling Standards, and IDEA regulations; and,
• Direct attendance strategy including overseeing compliance reporting, supporting campus leadership teams with attendance concerns, and partnering with other agencies to provide prevention services.
• Lead and supervise the Student Wellness Team and social workers
• Guide, supervise, and provide opportunities for growth and development of social workers, professional school counselors, and graduate social work, and counseling students; and
• Facilitate Professional Development to support staff trauma-informed knowledge and skills. 
• Share relevant professional and community resources, consulting with individual staff, and teachers, and supporting the school's social curriculum's practical use.
• Develop and facilitate staff training in mandatory child abuse and neglect reporting, anti-bullying/harassment/discrimination education and prevention, and social-emotional learning curriculum.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A degree and/or advanced training in public health administration, social work, or counseling;
• Valid License Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) a plus;
• 3 or more years of work experience, with a concentration in school health and mental health services, in an educational setting serving diverse and historically marginalized communities; Ability, stamina, and self-care strategies necessary to work with populations experiencing trauma, poverty, housing insecurity, healthcare inequities and other forms of disenfranchisement;
• Training and a commitment to ongoing, trauma-informed learning around racial and health justice, especially connected to children and families;
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills;
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team and motivate, inspire, and hold others accountable to individual and team goals;
• Experience recognizing and identifying solutions to address historical and systemic disparities that may impact student health and wellness; and commitment to meeting the needs of every child in a diverse population; and
• Commitment to learning and professional development.

OTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• An advanced degree in public health, nursing, nutrition/dietetics, social work, health education, or other similar field or related professional experience;
• Oral and written proficiency in Spanish;
• Experience working in a PreK3 through 8th-grade setting.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Meridian teachers and staff are compensated competitively for their time and have opportunities to earn additional income through leadership opportunities at the school level, offering extracurricular clubs and sports for students, and facilitating tutoring programs. Compensation for the Manager of Student Health and Wellness will be based on certifications, level of education, and years of experience; the range for this position is $85,000.00-$95,000.00.
