Position Overview

We are seeking qualified candidates for a night shift nursing position in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in City, State . This role involves providing specialized care to patients with neurological conditions in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in neuro care and critical care settings.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (4 shifts per month)

Qualifications

• Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Neuro ICU setting
• Charge Experience: Preferred
• Certifications:
  
  
  • California RN License
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC (preferred)
• Charting System Experience: Epic required
• Patient Ratios: 1:2

Unit Information

The ICU features 24 beds split between two wings, A and B, and serves a diverse patient population, including:

• Level Two Trauma ICU patients
• Neuro/Stroke ICU patients post-thrombectomy
• Post-procedural/surgical trauma patients
• Patients requiring organ donation preparation

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and provide care for patients with acute neurological conditions
• Perform detailed and frequent neuro checks
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment for critical care management

Additional Skills Required

• Central line care and management
• Ventilator management
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Emergency medication administration
• Patient education and support

Compliance and Onboarding Requirements

• Completion of labs within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required
• Compliance documents must be submitted 10 days prior to start
