Green Courte Residential Holdings, LLC, located in Clearwater, Florida, is a high growth real estate investment trust (REIT) that owns and operates properties across the United States which include 27 land-lease manufactured home communities with approx. 9,500 home sites, 21 senior living communities with over 3,300 senior living units, and 3 truck storage facilities.

We own and operate our active adult/independent living senior housing communities under the True Connection Communities brand and our land lease communities under the Windward Communities brand. We are an affiliate company with Green Courte Partners, LLC, a private equity real estate investment firm focused on building industry-leading companies within niche real estate sectors.

We are seeking a Sr. Property Accountant to join our growing Corporate Accounting Team. In this role, you will interact with corporate leadership and collaborate closely with on-site community managers to provide accounting support, assist in timely completion of monthly accounting processes, and ensure that all transactions related to your portfolio of properties (5 8 communities) are recorded accurately and reported on a timely basis.

Additionally, this position will assist in identifying areas of improvement and implementing best practices to facilitate Green Courte Residential's ongoing expansion.

What You'll Do:

• Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of all required financial information for your assigned portfolio of communities.
• Collaborate with Community Managers and Accounting Team members to perform day-to-day financial operations such as:
  • Maintaining tenant ledgers
  • Reviewing AP invoice activity and related GL account coding
• Complete Monthly financial closing process, including:
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Monthly closing journal entries
  • Managing closing matters
  • Monthly financial reports
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
• Partner with the Reporting team to provide meaningful variance comments.
  • Assist Operations Team with annual budget process
  • Participate in the external audit process, including preparation of schedules
  • Identify and recommend process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Administering accounting procedures and monitoring internal controls
  • Complete other ad hoc projects as assigned in a timely manner.
  • Utilize accounting IT systems such as Yardi and Rent Manager.
  • Complete special projects assigned in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Advanced degree and/or CPA is strongly preferred, but not required
• Real estate or manufactured housing background a plus, but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (must be able to manipulate pivot tables & utilize formulas such as xlookups, sumifs, if statements, etc.).
• Some experience with databases, power query, SQL, VBA, etc. a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
• Good verbal and written communication skills that enable you to work in a collaborative manner with diverse teams in a variety of different departments.
• Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment.
• Strong work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Persistent sense of urgency and accuracy, with a keen appreciation for detail.
• Self-starter with a creative, enthusiastic, innovative, and collaborative outlook.
• Aptitude for learning and utilizing various accounting systems.
• Willing to travel 1-2 trips a year for training or to visit communities
