Purchasing Assistant (Bi-lingual)

We are seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Purchasing Assistant. This vital role focuses on optimizing procurement for our Colombian operations by negotiating competitive prices and efficient delivery terms for major commodities. The Purchasing Assistant will be instrumental in the analysis and preparation of sourcing decisions, contributing to effective short-term purchasing agreements and overall supply chain efficiency.

Purchasing Assistant (Bi-lingual) Details:

Temp-to-Hire position
$17.00 / hour
Full Time work available
First Shift ( Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm )

Key Responsibilities:

Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules for selected major commodities to best support Colombian operations.
Prepare, analyze, and review sourcing decisions for the development of short-term purchasing agreements.
Identify stock and non-stock items in PeopleSoft for quotation.
Confirm contracted items with established suppliers.
Proactively contact suppliers via email or phone to secure quoted prices and lead-times.
Research and contact potential new suppliers for competitive discount pricing.
Format Request for Quotations (RFQs) for comparison and analysis of cost savings.
Assist in resolving and diligently following up on supply chain problems.
Expedite deliveries from U.S. suppliers to ensure timely arrival.
Support the accurate and timely update of quoted pricing from suppliers into PeopleSoft.
Aid in the placement of orders with various suppliers for PSI.

Purchasing Assistant (Bi-lingual) Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in supply chain.
Strong data entry skills and Microsoft Suite.
Proven strong negotiating skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Prior purchasing experience.
Experience with PeopleSoft.
Ability to speak and understand Spanish is highly desired.
