Full Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) We are looking for a Full Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team in Providence, Rhode Island. Berkshire Place is a fast paced Skilled Nursing Facility providing rehabilitation services to both short term and long term residents. Position Summary The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides skilled occupational therapy services under the direction of the Occupational Therapist to help residents improve or maintain the functional skills needed for daily activities and independence. Responsibilities Provide occupational therapy treatments in accordance with the established plan of care Address ADLs, strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, cognition, safety, and functional performance Adapt activities and treatment approaches based on each resident’s individual needs Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation Communicate changes in resident status to the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team Provide resident, family, caregiver, and staff education as appropriate Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary communication Maintain equipment and treatment areas in a safe and professional manner Work collaboratively with nursing, therapy, and facility leadership to support excellent resident outcomes Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Current Rhode Island Occupational Therapy Assistant license or eligibility for licensure Long term care or geriatric experience preferred, but not required Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills New graduates are welcome to apply What We Offer Full time position Competitive pay Robust PTO package Comprehensive benefits Supportive in-house rehabilitation team Opportunities for professional growth Stable long term care and short term rehab caseload Collaborative facility leadership If you are looking for a team where your clinical skills are valued and you can make a difference in residents’ lives every day, we would love to hear from you.
