Read on to learn more.PACU NURSE – OverviewEnsures that hospital policies and protocols are complied with for all procedures. He/she is responsible for conducting peri-procedural patient and family education, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, evaluation and treatment of the patient across the continuum surrounding the patent's procedure. Completes treatments for the patients according to the patient's needs including but not limited to intravenous, respiratory, or any other treatment to assure the patient is hemodynamically stable. Duties include, but not limited to the following: Manages the nursing care of all post-op patients who enter the PACU in support of health care assessment ethical and compliance principles and values; Works closely with the anesthesia department and assists in coordination of patient care; Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting all aspects of patient care; Delegates appropriate tasks to unlicensed personnel and provides required supervision; Works closely with all health care providers to facilitate and coordinate efficient, effective, and quality healthcare; Evaluates patient's signs and symptoms and records and reports results; Sets priorities and modifies patient care in response to changing conditions by utilizing problem solving skills and exhibiting good judgment; Collaborates with physicians regarding patient progress towards the outcome attainment; Reviews diagnostic and laboratory data and reports results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers- focuses on the immediate post-anesthesia period, transitioning to Phase II, the inpatient setting, or to intensive care/step down (SICU) -PACU nurse is cross trained to perform in phases II of the perianesthesia continuum.Requirements:Unrestricted RN license in any StateAt least two years of nursing experience in either PACU/SICU in an acute care settingLocal DC providers encouraged to applyCurrent BLS requiredKurzSolutions is committed to improving health outcomes by providing well-managed companies with the top healthcare talent in the market.
