Long Term Substitute CustodianLocation: Carlos Elementary SchoolType: Full-TimeHours: 5:30am-4pm - Typically works four 10-hour days per week, with the schedule subject to change as needed.Position OverviewPerforms intermediate semiskilled work maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe facility for students, staff and members of the public; performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Head Custodian.Essential FunctionsCleans, scrubs, strips, waxes, buffs and sweeps floors; vacuums carpets; responds to emergency clean-ups; replaces lights and ballasts; performs minor plumbing repairsMaintains and performs minor equipment repairs; assists with major equipment repairs.Maintains security, locks and unlocks doors with keys and computer operated systems; monitors building automation and H-Vac systems; monitors boiler operations and boiler log.Restocks cleaning supplies; loads and unloads trucks at receiving dock.Sets-up buildings, Performing Arts Center and grounds for activities to including sporting events; assists students, faculty, coaches and members of the public as required.Performs ground maintenance, trash, snow and ice removal; applies salt/grit mixture to sidewalks and entries.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED and minimal experience in a custodial or mechanical environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Compensation: $20 per hour.Benefits:Sick leave based on the minimum standards of the Earned Safe and Sick Time law
