Join more than 56,000 teammates working together to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve across North Carolina.The Clinical Nursing Assistant is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction of a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.Responsibilities:Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.Observes, collects, and documents patient information obtained while providing care and promptly report significant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.Assists patients and their families during admission to the clinical area, orientation to the hospital/clinic/home health experience, and discharge.Provides care/treatments to patients as outlined in plan of care including, but not limited to:Monitoring of vital signsMeasurement of height and weightSpecimen collectionSkin preps/scrubs such as chlorohexidine (CHG) bathingCatheter careCapillary blood glucose checksSimple wound careRange-of-motion exercisesDrain careAssist patients with routine activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, feeding and assisting with ambulation as outlined in plan of careMaintains an effective clinical work environment including but not limited to cleaning the work area, changing linens, maintaining and monitoring supply levels, and transporting patients/specimens throughout hospital.Ensures competency in all required skills and completes competency assessment annually per the documented competency checklist. Adheres to documented policies and processes as well as performing other related duties as assigned.Required:Must have nursing assistant certification, such as Nurse Aide I registration as administered by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON)Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
