Assistant Coach Cross Country - Sutter Middle School

Job Overview The position is an Athletic Coach under the direction of the school principal or designee, responsible for guiding athletes and teaching them the correct way to play a sport. Coaches formulate training plans, monitor athlete performance, nutrition, and academic progress, mentor young children, and assist them in transitions to higher levels. Responsibilities Under the direction of the school principal or designee, guide athletes and teach proper sport techniques. Formulate and implement training plans, assess athlete performance, nutrition, and educational outcomes. Mentor young athletes and support their transition to the next level. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years of school-level relevant sport coaching experience or college-level experience. Prior Head Coaching and/or Varsity coaching experience preferred. Essential Job Functions Communicate with Middle School level students. Teach skills and drills at the designated school level. Work well with others. Conditional Offer of Employment Requirements DoJ and FBI Criminal Background Check. TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667). Complete district Mandated Reporter training. Obtain and maintain a First Aid/CPR Certificate (In-Person Training ONLY). Knowledge of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion In Sports, and Heat Illness Prevention.
