Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift float pool position requiring a CA RN license and proficiency in A-lines, phlebotomy, and PICC lines.

Details

• ICU float pool position covering multiple facility locations
• May float to EDIP (emergency department inpatient overflow) within the ER
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Patient population includes cardiac, neuro, general, stroke, medical, surgical, kidney, liver, solid organ transplant, and trauma cases
• 4-week schedule provided two weeks in advance with no blocked or self-scheduling
• RN receives a call 2 hours before shift start confirming facility assignment
• Must be willing to work across 3 different facility locations during the contract
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 holiday periods (Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year's)

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience within the past 2 years for specialized units
• Required skills: A-lines, phlebotomy, PICC lines, chest tubes, ventilator management, telemetry, and IV starts
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred skills: pulmonary artery lines, ICP monitoring
• Preferred education: BSN
• Two manager/supervisor references required, with at least one from the specific unit within the past year

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU patient populations including cardiac, neuro, trauma, and transplant patients
• Float assignments determined by census and unit requirements within the hospital system or affiliate hospitals
• Up to 8 hours of non-billable orientation and annual training modules included in scheduled hours
• Candidates previously employed by the facility must disclose this at submission and receive facility approval prior to assignment
• Must not have worked for the facility as a staff employee within the past year to be eligible as a traveler
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
