Shift Details

This position offers a night shift, working 3 shifts of 12 hours each, from 19:00 to 07:00. The contract will primarily take place during October and November.

Description

The role involves working in multiple locations as part of a float pool. The locations include:

Thornton (La Jolla)
Jacobs (La Jolla)
Hillcrest (Hillcrest)
East Campus (La Mesa)

Registered Nurses (RNs) must be comfortable floating between these facilities. Responsibilities may include floating to the Emergency Department Inpatient (EDIP) overflow in the ER.

Key Requirements

Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
Proficient in A-lines and phlebotomy.
Experience with PICC lines, chest tubes, ventilators, telemetry, and IV starts.
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with pulmonary artery lines and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring.

The scope of care includes diverse patient populations such as:

Cardiac
Neuro
General
Stroke
Medical
Surgical
Kidney
Liver solid organ transplant
Trauma

Schedule Details

A 4-week schedule will be provided to the RN two weeks in advance.
There is no blocked or self-scheduling allowed.
The RN will receive a phone call 2 hours prior to their shift to inform them of the facility assignment.

Additional Information

The influenza vaccine is required, with medical exemptions considered. Candidates will be floating within hospitals or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on unit requirements and census.

References from two managerial roles are required. Candidates must have an active state license, and a background check may be conducted prior to approval.
