Group Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in ECE or related, and one year experience with children or an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university including 30 credit hours in ECE or related field and employment experience with children.

Experience: One year experience working with children required.

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

a. Ability to supervise and support operations of the Child Care Center.

b. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Mental Concentration: Considerable concentration intermittently.

Interruptions: Occur constantly.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical effort in predominantly standing position. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

Special Demands: Moderate travel. Potential eyestrain. Current PA Driver's License and access to a vehicle.

Special Requirements: History verification showing free of child abuse/neglect by authorities.

Act 33/34 Clearances and staff health assessment completed.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES : Provide day-to-day care to the children in the Learning Tree Children Care and Preschool Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES : Duties may include any or all of the following. This list is intended to be representative.

1. Implements curriculum designed to meet educational, social, and health needs and abilities of children.

2. Remains up-to-date on information that pertains to the needs of the children in the program including child care licensing regulations and other applicable regulations and practices.

3. Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to children, families and staff in accordance with established policies and procedures.

4. Implements education lesson plans and daily programs for children in accordance with each child's need, based on a method of observing and recording children's interests and current levels of functioning.

5. Supports social and emotional development and provides positive guidance.

6. Maintains a commitment to professionalism and continues own professional development so that decisions are based on knowledge of early childhood theories and practice.

7. Attends training as determined appropriate.

8. Participates in and supports parent and family involvement activities.

9. Provides a stable classroom routine and environment.

10. Provides opportunities for children to develop social relationships by promoting fair play and sociability through games and group activities.

11. Establish and maintain daily communication with families regarding child's development and daily routine.

12. Displays evidence of positive and productive relationship with children, staff and parents.

13. Assists and supports respectful inclusion of children with all special needs into the classroom community.

14. Participates in all curricular activities.

15. Screens, observes and assesses children as required.

16. Meets with parents, other content area staff, and community agencies as requested.

17. Participates in parent conferences as requested.

18. Works with other staff in providing comprehensive services for children at the center.

19. Performs other related work as required on behalf of the agency.

20. Ensure compliance with all state, federal and local regulations and licensing requirements.

21. Implements and follows Early Head Start performance standards

22. Implements Keystone STARS requirements.

23. Implements and participates in staff meetings.

24. Supervises and evaluates classroom staff in both the infant and toddler room..

25. Ensure a high-quality education, in keeping with the vision and goals of LCCAP.

Applicable Fringe Benefit Package

Pay Range: $20.00 - $20.59 per hour
