Clerk, Accounts Receivable

North Central Nursing Clinics (NCNC) is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Clerk to join our team and support our mission of expanding access to high-quality healthcare across North Central Indiana. As a federally qualified health center (FQHC), NCNC provides comprehensive primary healthcare services to the communities surrounding Burlington, Delphi, Monon, and Wolcott. In this role, you will play an important part in supporting patient care by providing administrative support to the Delphi Accounts Receivable office and helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of provider documentation and coding. Working collaboratively with providers, coordinators, and support staff, you will help maintain efficient processes that support both patient outcomes and operational excellence. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact while contributing to a team dedicated to service, compassion, and community well-being. The successful candidate will work independently with general supervision from the Patient Accounts Coordinator and serve as a trusted resource in supporting NCNC's commitment to quality healthcare for the communities we serve. This position is primarily located in Delphi, IN, it may require occasional travel to the Burlington, Monon, and/or Wolcott clinics as needed for coverage. Responsibilities Include: Prepare Medicaid, Medicare and commercial billing for the Nursing clinics. Review CPT codes for claims submission, addressing denials and resubmission of claims to claim vendors and the state. What We’re Looking For: Required: Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED. Three years of experience in a healthcare or medical clerical office, or customer service experience. Skills Needed: Knowledge and understanding of coding and billing. Must demonstrate tact, patience and excellent oral and written communication skills in dealing with patients, peers and external partners. Ability to support the Mission and Vision of the North Central Nursing Clinics (NCNC) and the patients served and demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10 coding, electronic health record system and medical practice management system. Competency with Microsoft Office products. Strong organizational skills. Must respect and maintain confidentiality. Possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work appropriately. Must possess ability to cope with complex situations in a professional manner. Clean and neat appearance. What is Helpful: Associate’s degree with course work in medical coding. Coding Certification. Experience in medical health insurance claims processing, electronic health records, practice management systems, billing, and/or accounts receivable.
