Demeetra is seeking an ambitious and highly driven sales representative to secure new clients and expand customer relationships. Candidates must have a working understanding of genetic engineering, antibody production, and cell culture. This is a field-led, new-business role centered on prospecting, virtual and in-person engagement, converting scientific discussions into sales and commercial opportunities.

You will sell Demeetra's high-value portfolio—Cas-CLOVER gene-editing technology, Harbor-IN transposase, CleanCut CHO cell lines, and cell line development services—to a broad customer base across biotech, biopharma, and CDMOs. Opportunities range from short-cycle product sales to larger, higher-value projects and agreements with longer sales cycles.

Key Responsibilities

Generate new business. Identify high-fit accounts, continually refine outreach based on results, and secure meetings with prospects ranging from bench scientists to managers and key decision-makers. Expand engagement with existing clients and pursue cross-selling opportunities.

Design and execute your field plan. Build and manage your travel calendar, group client visits efficiently, and prioritize opportunities within agreed territory goals and travel budgets.

Make conferences productive. Attend Demeetra's predetermined annual events and identify smaller regional or specialist conferences, networking, social events and other opportunities. Book meetings in advance and follow up to create qualified opportunities.

Lead consultative discussions. Understand customer processes and more importantly, pain points, deliver data-based presentations on how Demeetra technologies or services can solve client problems, and engage Demeetra scientists for deeper technical support.

Advance opportunities to revenue. Coordinate evaluations, proposals, and commercial discussions with internal teams; maintain clear next steps.

Maintain sales discipline. Keep contact records, opportunity stages, next actions, and forecasts current in the customer relationship management (CRM) system. Share customer feedback and competitive insights.

How Success Is Measured

Performance will be assessed against agreed targets for new customers and revenue, qualified pipeline, and opportunity conversion. Travel and conference activities should generate measurable follow-up, evaluations, and sales opportunities.

Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or another relevant scientific discipline.

• A working foundation in molecular biology and biologics, with the ability to understand technical information and communicate its relevance to customers.

• Strong communication, presentation, organization, and relationship-building skills; ability to prospect proactively and manage priorities independently.

Experience Pathways

Sales professionals: Three or more years of sales experience, preferably in outside sales or other client-facing life sciences roles, with demonstrated success.

Scientists transitioning into sales: Scientists with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply. Strong technical experience may be considered in place of direct-sales experience, but only if coupled sales communication aptitude and a clear interest in prospecting and customer-facing work.

Strongly Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience with Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells, mammalian cell culture, stable cell line development, genetic engineering, biologics production, or antibody development and manufacturing.

• Experience working within, selling to, or supporting CROs, CDMOs, and pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies.

• Familiarity with recombinant protein expression, gene editing, upstream process development, or technical sales of molecular biology or cell culture products and services.

Travel & Work Requirements

Expect approximately 75% or more domestic and international travel, including overnight and multi-day trips. The role requires independent itinerary planning and flexibility for conference schedules, time-zone differences, and occasional evening or weekend commitments.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, hold a valid driver's license, and hold or obtain a valid passport before international travel. They must also be able to meet applicable entry requirements for business travel.

Compensation & Incentives

Annual base salary: $75,000-$85,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Annual on-target earnings (OTE): $110,000 or more, including base salary and performance-based commissions at target achievement. Commissions are uncapped , allowing total earnings to increase with performance above target.
