Server

Servers are the primary guest-facing role at CAVALIER, responsible for delivering warm, knowledgeable service across food and an evolving Mediterranean-leaning wine list.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet, seat, and guide guests through food and wine offerings with genuine hospitality
• Maintain deep working knowledge of nightly menu, wine list, and preparation methods
• Accurately enter orders, manage table timing, and coordinate with kitchen and bar
• Handle payment processing and check accuracy
• Maintain cleanliness and setup/breakdown of assigned section
• Participate in pre-shift tastings and ongoing wine education

Qualifications

• 1+ years serving experience in a full-service restaurant; wine bar experience a plus
• Genuine interest in wine and willingness to build product knowledge
• Food Protection Certificate and NY alcohol service compliance (or obtained within required window)
• Strong communication and multitasking under pressure

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand/walk for full shifts (up to 8 hours), carry loaded trays, and lift up to 30 lbs.

Schedule Expectations

• Evenings and weekends required; part-time and full-time schedules available
