DATTCO is a third generation family owned passenger transportation company that serves 30 school districts throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island Our 2500 employees transport over 140000 students to and from school every year We are hiring experienced CREC Van Drivers for our New Britain CT location Hourly Rate 20 23hrCompetitive compensation transparency rates for the next 3 years HoursPart time 20 30 hours per week Want more hours No problem additional hours may be available to you work with your manager directly to pick up shifts and hours Why DATTCO Weekends off and school holiday breaksJob stability and longevityBring Your Child to Work Program save on childcare401k with company matchCareer growth opportunities we promote from within under all DATTCO company brands DeVivo Companies Motor Coach School BusPaid holidaysAnnual pay raisesMay be eligible for unemployment insurance during the summer monthsEmployee Referral Program 1000 bonuses offered to any current employee that refers someone to work with us Dont know another licensed driver No problem We provide a training program for anyone referred that may not have the specific requirements yetNote Subject to referral program terms and eligibility requirements Who you might be Veteran seeking PT workStay at home parentsSeeking additional hours during the weekPrevious work experience in a classroom or working with studentsSemi retired and looking for consistency with less hoursCommunity minded individual looking to get involved locally What Youll Do Safely transport students to and from school on assigned routes Perform required pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections and report safety or maintenance concerns Follow all traffic laws designated routes railroad crossing procedures student pick updrop off procedures and school district safety requirements Maintain a safe respectful and orderly environment for students while operating the bus Communicate professionally with students parentsguardians school staff transportation supervisors and safety personnel Complete all required safety training drills continuing education and compliance requirements under Connecticut DMV school district and DATTCO policies Requirements No experience required training will be provided to you Must be at least 21 years old Must have at least three consecutive years of driving experience with a valid drivers license Must have an acceptable driving record and meet Connecticut DMV school district and DATTCO eligibility standards Must hold or be able to obtain before transporting students the appropriate Connecticut DMV Student Transportation Vehicle STV andor Public Passenger endorsements required for the operation of student transportation vehicles Must successfully complete all Connecticut DMV required training and qualification requirements for Student Transportation Vehicle operators Must meet the physical qualification standards established under 49 CFR Part 391 and maintain any required medical certification Must successfully complete all pre employment screening requirements including driving record review fingerprinting state and national criminal background checks and any additional screenings required by Connecticut DMV applicable school districts or DATTCO policy Must complete and maintain all required annual in service safety and regulatory training Must comply with all applicable Connecticut DMV school district and company safety policies and procedures Physical Demands Ability to lift carry push or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally Ability to enter and exit the vehicle repeatedly and perform required vehicle inspections Ability to bend kneel reach climb stairs and use vehicle safety equipment Ability to assist passengers during boarding exiting and emergency evacuations The physical requirements described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position DATTCO provides reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities consistent with applicable federal and state law Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex national origin disability protected veteran status and any other protected classes #J-18808-Ljbffr DATTCO
