School Occupational Therapist | Arnold, Maryland

An exciting contract opportunity is available for a motivated Occupational Therapist eager to support students in a dynamic school environment near Arnold, MD. This role focuses on helping children achieve their academic and personal goals by providing essential therapeutic services alongside a dedicated educational team.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Maryland.
- Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Previous experience working as an OT in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of IEP development, special education processes, and relevant state/federal regulations.
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and allied professionals.
- Assess students' functional abilities and develop targeted intervention plans to address motor, sensory, and adaptive needs within the educational setting.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide direct therapy services, consultative support, and adapt curriculum materials to maximize student participation.
- Track progress, document outcomes, and communicate regularly regarding students' gains and needs.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative strategies and promote a supportive, inclusive classroom experience.
- Educate staff and parents on strategies and accommodations to ensure students' success.
