Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Proven experience working with junior high or high school students in special education settings
• Demonstrated ability to maintain career consistency and commitment to long-term placements
• Strong emphasis on student-focused teaching rather than strictly curriculum-driven methods
• Knowledge of Science, English, or Math is highly preferred
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Adaptability and resilience while managing diverse classroom needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) to a class of 20 or fewer students
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote student success across all subjects
• Address a range of learning abilities and styles to maximize student achievement
• Maintain detailed documentation on student progress and behavior
• Cultivate a supportive and respectful classroom atmosphere conducive to growth and inclusion
• Serve as an advocate for students and a liaison with families
• Stay current with best practices in special education and integrate them into daily lessons
