Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch) or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

About the Role

LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Invoicing Representative / Customs Billing Specialist to support customs brokerage billing operations for a growing logistics organization. This role is responsible for processing invoices, resolving billing exceptions, managing compliance documentation, and ensuring accurate and timely customer billing. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities

Customs Billing & Invoice Processing

• Process daily customs brokerage billing transactions accurately and on time.
  
• Review invoices for accuracy, including charge codes, rates, customer requirements, and billing instructions.
  
• Create, update, exempt, and release invoices within internal billing systems.
  
• Validate customs entry information and supporting documentation prior to invoice release.
  
• Ensure all billing activities meet established service level expectations.
  

Documentation & Compliance

• Assemble and distribute customer invoice packets and supporting documentation.
  
• Ensure all required compliance documents are included before invoice delivery.
  
• Maintain adherence to customer-specific billing and documentation requirements.
  
• Research and resolve missing documentation issues impacting invoice processing.
  

Billing Exception Resolution

• Investigate and resolve billing exceptions, workflow holds, invoice failures, and system-generated errors.
  
• Research discrepancies involving purchase orders, shipment information, rates, and customer references.
  
• Coordinate with operations teams and internal stakeholders to obtain missing information and resolve issues.
  
• Maintain detailed records of investigations and resolutions.
  

Workflow & Customer Support

• Manage assigned exception queues and prioritize work based on business impact.
  
• Respond professionally to customer and internal billing inquiries.
  
• Provide timely updates regarding outstanding billing issues and requests.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve billing accuracy and efficiency.
  

Reporting & Data Management

• Maintain billing reports, logs, and workflow metrics.
  
• Utilize Excel and other reporting tools to monitor performance and identify trends.
  
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end billing activities.
  
• Perform data validation and reconciliation activities to ensure invoice accuracy.
  

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
  

Preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
  
• Strong typing and data entry skills, including 10-key experience
  
• Customer service experience
  
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  
• Experience in billing, invoicing, logistics, customs brokerage, transportation, accounting support, or related administrative functions

Pay Details: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour
