Behavioral Health Registered Nurse - Night Shift

This is a short contract position from October 19 to November 20.

Schedule / Shift

12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM; weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a locked inpatient treatment unit specializing in behavioral health. The unit focuses on acute mental health needs for patients aged 18 and older, with an average inpatient census ranging from 8 to 20 patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with various mental health needs, including depression, mania, substance use disorders, and psychosis.
• Conduct patient assessments and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for treatment planning.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Participate in daily group sessions, if experienced and comfortable.
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to the AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention program.
• Maintain patient charts and documentation using the EPIC charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN licensure in the state of West Virginia.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Previous experience in a behavioral health or psychiatric setting is preferred.
