Position Summary

Our civil division is seeking an experienced Utility / Heavy Civil Estimator to join our regional group. This role focuses on the detailed elements of estimating including quantity take-offs, self-perform cost analysis, subcontractor and vendor scopes, schedule sequencing, risk evaluation, and bid deliverables. A strong understanding of these elements will support strategic markup and risk management decisions. The position also involves active communication and relationship building within the industry to support business growth.

Job Functions

• Prepare detailed estimates, including quantity take-offs, self-perform costs, subcontractor scopes, vendor requests, risks, sequence, schedule, and bid deliverables.
• Apply detailed understanding of estimating elements to develop markup and risk strategies.
• Solicit and communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, agencies, and clients.
• Build and maintain industry relationships within the marketplace to support project acquisition.
• Use estimating software and tools including B2W Estimate, Agtek, Bluebeam, and Trimble Business Center as needed.
• Work in a hybrid environment, supporting bid projects both remotely and in-office.

Job Qualifications

• 3 years of previous experience in the Utility / Heavy Civil marketplace.
• Direct experience with estimating processes.
• Field experience is considered a plus.
• Proficiency with B2W Estimate, Agtek, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Trimble Business Center software packages is a plus (training is available).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to organize bid documents, quotes, and take-off results.
• Ability to prioritize tasks under tight timelines.
• Capacity to manage multiple competing priorities in an accurate and timely manner.
• Must operate with a high sense of urgency.
