Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized psychiatric nursing care to patients, supporting treatment plans and ensuring emotional and mental well-being. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote recovery and safety.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement patient care plans based on input from physicians and clinical staff.
Attend weekly clinical staffing and review patient treatment progress.
Educate patients and families on medication, treatment protocols, and coping strategies.
Monitor and report patients' emotional, mental, and behavioral observations to medical teams.
Lead educational groups on the Behavioral Health unit according to the schedule.
Train LPNs and MHTs in charting, vital signs, patient routines, and de-escalation techniques.

Qualifications:

Possess a minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
Hold a valid state nursing license.
Complete de-escalation training, preferred but not mandatory.
Maintain current Therapeutic Options certification.
Demonstrate proficiency in patient education and mental health assessments.
