Senior AI Software Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced software engineer to help develop next-generation AI solutions that drive business innovation and operational efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and business leaders, to build scalable AI-powered applications and intelligent automation platforms.

As a Senior AI Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying advanced AI solutions from concept through production. You will help evaluate emerging technologies, contribute to architectural decisions, and support the adoption of AI capabilities across the organization. This position is ideal for a hands‑on engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, collaborating with stakeholders, and mentoring fellow team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise AI applications and intelligent automation solutions throughout the full software lifecycle.
• Build robust AI workflows leveraging modern techniques such as orchestration frameworks, retrieval-augmented systems, tool integrations, contextual reasoning, and human oversight processes where appropriate.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, evaluate solution options, and deliver scalable technology outcomes aligned with business objectives.
• Lead technical initiatives from proof of concept through production implementation and operational support.
• Develop testing strategies, performance metrics, monitoring processes, and quality controls for AI-driven systems.
• Evaluate architectural tradeoffs involving model selection, performance, scalability, security, reliability, operational cost, and maintainability.
• Contribute reusable frameworks, libraries, and best practices that improve development efficiency and consistency across teams.
• Participate in architecture discussions, peer reviews, and technical mentorship activities.
• Continuously improve application performance, reliability, maintainability, and overall engineering quality.
• Research emerging AI technologies and assess practical opportunities to apply them within the organization.
• Support the transition of successful AI solutions into sustainable, long-term operational environments.

Business & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with business leaders, product teams, and technical stakeholders to identify opportunities and define effective solutions.
• Translate complex business challenges into practical, scalable technology architectures.
• Communicate technical concepts, recommendations, and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Balance innovation with considerations around risk, scalability, supportability, security, and cost effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience designing and delivering enterprise applications.
• Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
• Hands‑on experience developing AI-enabled products, automation platforms, conversational applications, or intelligent business solutions.
• Familiarity with modern AI development concepts, including:
• Agent-based architectures
• Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
• Function and API integrations
• Prompt design and optimization
• Output validation and structured responses
• Monitoring and observability
• AI governance and safety controls
• Experience deploying applications into production environments with a focus on quality, scalability, security, and supportability.
• Strong background building cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and containerized solutions.
• Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software delivery best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and system design skills.
• Ability to independently own technical deliverables and make sound engineering decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics.
• Passion for continuous learning and staying current with advancements in AI and software engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring junior engineers.
• Background working in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, insurance, or similar enterprise environments.
• Exposure to large-scale data platforms, enterprise AI adoption initiatives, or cloud-based AI services.
• Experience contributing to architecture standards, engineering frameworks, or shared technology platforms.
