Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13- or 18-week assignments available) | Nights, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite | Every other weekend and holiday availability required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pre- and post-operative open heart patients, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, mitral clip, TAVR, and thoracotomy cases
• Manage lung cases involving pneumothorax, hemothorax, chest tubes, and zephyr valve procedures
• Monitor and care for advanced cardiac patients requiring continuous telemetry; must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips; perform IV starts and NIH assessments
• Document all patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Float within the hospital or to nearby affiliated campuses based on census and skill set, including potential assignment to a high-risk respiratory unit

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (any active state license or compact license accepted)
• Stepdown or PCU experience required — ICU experience does not substitute; application must reflect 1:5 ratio experience in a Stepdown or PCU setting
• CABG and valve post-operative experience required
• Cardiac experience required, including cardiac drip titration and rhythm strip interpretation
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass an online EKG/dysrhythmia competency assessment within 72 hours of contract signing
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience, with some exposure to a Level 1 or Level 2 facility preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Comfort with floating to other units or nearby campuses based on census and skill set
