This position focuses on guiding residential customers through the selection process for carpet, hardwood, luxury vinyl, tile, and other flooring solutions. The associate is responsible for understanding customer needs, presenting appropriate product options, and ensuring a smooth, professional sales process from initial consultation to final installation. Retail Sales Associates must maintain strong product knowledge, uphold showroom standards, and clearly communicate Riemer Floors’ value, installation process, and service expectations. This role requires a customer-centric mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to build trust through honest, solution-oriented recommendations. Collaboration with the scheduling, warehouse, and installation teams is essential to support accurate orders and timely project completion. Key Responsibilities Greeting customers promptly and providing a welcoming showroom experience. Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate flooring products, styles, and solutions. Present product features, benefits, warranties, and maintenance requirements. Prepare accurate price estimates, quotes, and sales orders. Maintain strong knowledge of product lines, including carpet, hardwood, laminate, LVT/LVP, tile, and area rugs. Assist customers with material selections, design coordination, and sample check-outs. Follow company procedures for sample handling, returns, and showroom organization. Achieving individual and team sales goals. Resolve customer concerns professionally. Keep the showroom clean, updated, and visually appealing. Participate in product training and stay current on flooring trends. Qualifications Proven experience in retail sales, preferably within the flooring, home improvement, or building materials industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
