Head of Capital Formation & Investor Relations - Special Situations Credit (New York City Metropolitan Area)

Our client is a founder-led alternative investment manager focused on complex, illiquid special situations. Led by partners from top-tier credit and special situations platforms, the firm has built a strong track record and is preparing for a significant capital raise over the next year.

They are hiring their first dedicated marketing and investor relations leader: the person whose job is to market the firm and its strategies every day, drive the fundraise, and be the main point of contact for investors.

What you'll do

• Own the fundraise for the firm's next closed-end vehicle, from pipeline build and outreach through first and final close
• Tell the story of a differentiated, complex strategy to LPs
• Build and manage relationships with existing and prospective LPs, primarily in North America
• Lead investor meetings, materials and follow-up, working directly with the Managing Partners
• Direct marketing operations support (materials, data room, CRM) with a junior team member

What you bring

• Hands-on fundraising experience at an alternative investment manager
• A track record of raising closed-end, illiquid capital from start to finish
• Comfort explaining complex credit, distressed or special situations strategies
• Established relationships with North American institutional investors
• Mid-level to early-senior experience: ready to own a raise, not just support one
• Entrepreneurial, hungry and energized by building in a lean, senior team
• A self-starter who opens doors: you build pipeline from cold outreach, not just inherited coverage
• This is a capital-raising role, not a reporting or client-service-operations role
