Job Description

Join a specialized manufacturing facility that produces probiotics, enzymes, bacteria, and bio-solutions as a Warehouse Associate on 1st shift. In this role, you operate material handling equipment, work extensively in an ultra-cold freezer environment, and ensure accurate, efficient movement and tracking of inventory using ERP systems and RF scanners. You support daily shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities while maintaining a safe, clean, and highly organized warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently to maneuver materials throughout the warehouse and freezer areas.

• Load and unload trucks and frozen trailers with materials, ensuring accurate counts and proper handling.

• Stage customer orders for shipment, organizing pallets and materials according to shipping schedules and requirements.

• Work inside a -55°C ultra-cold freezer for up to 80% of the workday to perform cycle counts, pick orders, and compact materials.

• Use an SAP/ERP system to track, manage, and update inventory records in real time.

• Operate RF scanners to locate, pick, verify, and record inventory movements and transactions.

• Perform regular cycle counts and inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and identify discrepancies.

• Maintain freezer cleanliness by scraping ice off floors and keeping aisles and storage areas clear and safe.

• Palletize products and materials for storage and shipment, ensuring stability and proper labeling.

• Follow established sanitization and housekeeping procedures to maintain a clean, organized warehouse and freezer environment.

• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices.

• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks and resolve inventory or shipping issues.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of material handling or warehouse experience.

• At least 1 year of experience loading and unloading trucks.

• At least 1 year of experience using an ERP system, preferably SAP.

• Proficiency operating sit-down forklifts in a warehouse environment.

• Comfort working in an ultra-cold freezer environment at -55°C for extended periods.

• Experience with inventory control, including cycle counting and stock verification.

• Ability to use RF scanners for inventory tracking and order picking.

• Ability to read and write in English to follow work instructions, labels, and safety information.

• Basic math skills to perform counts, verify quantities, and complete simple calculations.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

• Commitment to safe work practices, including proper use of PPE and adherence to warehouse safety procedures.

• Previous experience working in cold storage or freezer environments.

• Familiarity with palletizing, staging, and preparing orders for shipment.

• Experience with sanitization procedures in a warehouse or production setting.

Work Environment

This role operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You spend up to 80% of your workday in an ultra-cold freezer environment at -55°C, performing inventory, picking, and material handling tasks, and approximately 20% of your time in ambient warehouse conditions. The facility provides all necessary personal protective equipment for freezer work, including a snow suit or freezer suit, face mask, boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, and a radio, ensuring you can work safely and comfortably in extreme temperatures. The position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance, as well as frequent movement, pallet handling, and equipment operation. The warehouse environment is structured, safety-conscious, and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and adherence to established procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.85 - $19.85/hr.
