Family Engagement Specialist – Preschool & Childcare

Location: The Learning Experience – Gaithersburg, MD
Pay: $27 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Language Requirement: Bilingual English/Spanish

Where Early Childhood Education Meets Family Experience

The Learning Experience – Gaithersburg is seeking a warm, energetic, and highly personable Family Engagement Specialist to help create an exceptional experience for current and prospective families.

This is a unique role for someone who understands childcare but also loves working with people. You'll spend part of your day welcoming families, answering questions, supporting enrollment conversations, conducting tours, and building relationships—and you'll also be comfortable stepping into classrooms when our teaching teams need additional support.

The ideal candidate has preschool or daycare experience , speaks both English and Spanish , and brings the confidence and customer-service mindset often found in hospitality, retail, sales, or other family-facing roles.

What You'll Do

Family Engagement & Enrollment

• Create a warm, welcoming first impression for every family entering the center
  
  
• Connect with prospective families and help them learn about our programs
  
  
• Conduct engaging center tours and confidently communicate what makes The Learning Experience special
  
  
• Follow up with prospective families and support them throughout the enrollment process
  
  
• Answer questions regarding programs, classroom experiences, schedules, and enrollment
  
  
• Build meaningful relationships with current families and help ensure an exceptional ongoing experience
  
  
• Communicate with both English- and Spanish-speaking families
  
  
• Support family events, community outreach, and enrollment initiatives
  
  

Classroom Support

• Step into Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and other classrooms when additional support is needed
  
  
• Assist teachers with classroom routines, transitions, meals, activities, and supervision
  
  
• Engage positively with children through play and developmentally appropriate activities
  
  
• Help maintain required classroom ratios and a safe learning environment
  
  
• Work collaboratively with teachers and center leadership
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Fluent/bilingual in English and Spanish required
  
  
  
• Previous professional experience in a preschool, daycare, childcare center, or early childhood education environment strongly preferred
  
  
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  
  
• Previous sales, retail, hospitality, customer service, or enrollment experience is a major plus
  
  
  
• Comfortable speaking with prospective families and conducting tours
  
  
• Confident, outgoing, organized, and professional
  
  
• Able to move comfortably between administrative/family-facing responsibilities and classroom support
  
  
• Must meet Maryland childcare licensing requirements applicable to classroom support
