Details Med Specialty Step Down unit within a hospital setting Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours) Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex Requirements Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact/eNLC) Current BLS and ACLS certification from AHA Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required Stepdown experience required Tracheostomy care experience required ICU experience preferred Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures Strong verbal and written communication skills Basic computer skills Additional Information Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents responses to nursing interventions and treatments Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts Travelers may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before reapplying after that period American Traveler Job ID P-747754.
