General Role Description The Estimator will be accountable for supporting estimates for competitive bid and negotiated projects. This person will contribute to the estimating process from initial project review and subcontractor outreach through bid preparation, submission, and project turnover. This position is responsible for developing accurate estimates, coordinating bid solicitations, performing quantity takeoffs, reviewing plans and specifications, preparing bid deliverables, and cultivating relationships with subcontractors and vendors. Depending on experience level, the Estimator may manage the estimating process for multiple projects from start to finish and take on increased responsibility for estimate accuracy, scope development, and project leadership. Support and/or manage all aspects of the estimating process for competitive bid and negotiated projects. Review and understand contract documents, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, and change documents. Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with scope development for each trade. Post and manage subcontractor bid solicitations by CSI division in accordance with plans and specifications. Cultivate and maintain strong subcontractor and vendor relationships. Perform job walks and participate in project discovery activities. Prepare and compile bid deliverables in accordance with RFP requirements. Develop and review bid tabs to accurately qualify subcontractor packages. Manage subcontractor bidding lists and databases, Q&A logs, addendums, and other bid documentation. Set up job folders, request job numbers, and manage projects within BuildingConnected. Participate in project turnover and handoff activities to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to operations. Participate in the Business Development effort to build relationships with external stakeholders. Engage with sales teams to help identify and sell work. Learn, grow, and contribute as an active member of the Preconstruction team. Experience & Level of Responsibility The exact role, responsibilities, and compensation will vary according to the experience and qualifications of each candidate. Candidates at the Estimator level may support the estimating process under the direction of Senior Estimators and the Director of Preconstruction. Candidates at the Senior Estimator level will be expected to independently manage the estimating process for multiple competitive bid and negotiated projects from start to finish. #J-18808-Ljbffr
