Job Description
Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Schedule

Night shift, 4 shifts of 12 hours each (19:00 - 07:30). Required to work 4 weekend shifts per month and be on call 2 additional times per month.

Assignment Details

Contract length is 13 weeks with a maximum of 3 days of requested time off (RTO).

Requirements

• Minimum 2.5 years of experience required.
• Must have EPIC experience.
• Recent experience performing sterile vaginal exams and managing high-risk patients.
• Knowledge of the CMQCC Category II algorithm.
• Advanced fetal monitoring experience.
• Required certifications include AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced.
• Must be willing to float to Perinatal if needed.
• Experience with external fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Ability to circulate for C-sections.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and provide nursing care during labor and delivery.
• Monitor maternal and fetal conditions during labor and delivery.
• Perform nursing procedures and interventions as required.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives on the unit.

Compliance / Notes

No requested time off during the first two weeks of an assignment. RTO must be included in the submittal and is not guaranteed to be approved. Must work most holidays.
