Our team specializes in conducting comprehensive credit analysis for life/health insurance financial strength and debt ratings, working closely with analytical colleagues across the U.S. Canada. Your analytical expertise will drive rating recommendations for assigned insurance entities, while your participation as a voting member of rating committees will help determine outcomes that impact the broader financial services landscape. Through rigorous analytical work, mentoring junior team members, and engaging with clients and stakeholders, you will contribute to maintaining SP Globals reputation as the industry leader in credit analysis and ratings./ppWork alongside highly skilled professionals in a global financial services environment/ppGain exposure to complex credit analysis and financial modeling across diverse insurance entities/ppDevelop leadership skills through coaching and mentoring junior analysts/ppBuild expertise in regulatory compliance and risk assessment within the insurance sector/ppOpportunity to present findings to internal and external audiences, including potential conference presentations and media interactions/ppExperience a culture that values analytical rigor, collaboration, and professional growth/ppServe as the primary analyst for assigned issuers, preparing well-supported rating recommendations for rating committees with clear rating reports supporting our credit opinions/ppServe as an active, vocal voting member of rating committees, which deliberate rating outcomes and review materials prior to publication/ppPublish timely and insightful credit reports as well as contribute to relevant research pieces/ppDemonstrate strong knowledge of ratings criteria and financial statement analysis, while staying informed on relevant news and issues affecting credit quality in the industry and broader market/ppCoach and mentor junior analysts, providing analytical support to team members and fostering a collaborative environment/ppConnect your day-to-day analytical work with broader team priorities and strategic objectives/ppEngage with clients and stakeholders to gather information, present findings, and address inquiries in a professional manner, demonstrating solid presentation skills in front of internal and external audiences/ppOperate effectively in a regulated compliance driven environment leveraging workflow systems/ppApply solutions to complex analytical issues while taking an end-to-end view of credit assessment processes/ppTake initiative to identify potential credit risks and suggest process improvements to enhance analytical quality/ppDeliver high-quality analytical work consistently while meeting critical deadlines/ppIdentify and resolve analytical challenges using data-driven approaches and creative problem-solving/ppAll employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week/ppBasic Required Qualifications:/ppBachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or related analytical field; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred/ppAn SP Global employee at this level would typically have 6+ years of experience in financial statement analysis, accounting concepts and financial modeling, preferably with experience in corporate credit analysis/ppStrong client-facing skills with ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences/ppAbility to think independently and critically with strong integrity, analytical curiosity, problem-solving, and research skills/ppExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) for internal and external stakeholder interactions/ppStrong attention to detail and demonstrated quantitative analysis capabilities/ppAbility to accurately interpret financial data and appropriately apply analytical criteria to generate key insights and conclusions/ppCollaborative team player with ability to work independently and willingness to support team initiatives/ppProactive and organized with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple competing deadlines/ppStrong understanding of financial reporting and capital markets, with knowledge of credit rating methodologies preferred/ppProficient in Microsoft Office suite and aptitude for learning proprietary analytical software and databases/ppWe require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest SP Global Ratings office.
