# Job Opportunity – Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Float Pool) – North Dakota

Schedule:

12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation. Standard 36 hours per week (overtime available after 48 hours). Day and night shifts available.

Highlights:

• Float Pool position serving multiple Medical Surgical units across multiple campuses within a Level 1 trauma center
• Variety of specialty areas including oncology, general medical surgical, trauma, cardiac, neuro, observation, and medical behavioral units
• EPIC EMR system with modern equipment including Accudose Rx and Alaris IV pumps
• Comprehensive orientation program including full-shift training on different campuses and unit tours
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 during day shifts and 1:5-6 during night shifts
• Professional development opportunity in a fast-paced acute care environment with 250+ beds

Requirements:

• Active North Dakota RN license or Compact state RN license
• Minimum 1 year recent Medical Surgical experience in a hospital with 200+ beds
• Previous float pool or resource pool experience strongly preferred
• Experience working in a Level 2 or higher trauma center
• EPIC EMR experience required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must be willing to float between Medical Surgical units and multiple campuses
• Previous travel healthcare experience required (first-time travelers will be considered only if primary experience is in Resource Pool or Float Pool)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments
• Administer medications via various routes
• Formulate and document care plans
• Provide wound, line, and drain care
• Respond to daily unit assignments across the Medical Surgical cluster
• Provide care for units ranging from 24 to 47 beds depending on assignment
