Welder PositionMeyer Utility Structures is searching for welders for the Clinton, IL utility pole manufacturing plant. Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications.What You'll DoPlan sequences of operation and set up face block, jigs, and fixturesLocate and mark centerlines and reference points onto floor or face block and transposes them to workpiecesMove and align parts into positionRemove high spots and cut bevelsStraighten warped or bent partsPosition or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, bolt straps, or bolt parts in positions for welding or rivetingUse transit to locate reference points and erect ladders and scaffolding to fit together large assembliesWhat You'll Need2+ years of welding experience - combined experience and/or schoolAbility to read measuring devices, interpret drawings, and tack weld components in appropriate locations based on drawings and travelersAbility to conceptually understand how drawings translate to actual workAbility to maintain good attendanceMeyer Utility Structures is proud to offer competitive benefits and programs to help you and your family meet your healthcare and retirement planning needs.
