Fitter Welder_LeadMeyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is seeking experienced Lead Fitter/Welders to join our team at our Clinton, IL plant. In this role, you will lead and support welding operations by laying out, fitting, fabricating, repairing, and inspecting steel components in accordance with blueprints, layouts, schematics, and work orders. You will use jigs, holding fixtures, measuring tools, manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding equipment to produce high-quality work that meets specifications, safety standards, and production deadlines.Meyer Utility Structures is a proud subsidiary of Arcosa, Inc., a leading infrastructure company. As an industry leader in the engineering, design, and fabrication of tubular steel structures, Meyer Utility Structures supports transmission, distribution, and substation applications across the utility market.What you'll do:Lead, guide, and support a team of welders to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality productionRepair welds and perform complex welding repairs as needed to meet quality standardsAssist in coordinating and completing work assignments to meet production schedules and deadlinesApply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair metal components and other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding equipmentComplete advanced fitting, welding, and repair work requiring precision, attention to detail, and sound judgmentWeld clips, hardware, and related components in accordance with applicable specificationsPerform full-penetration welds, including slip joint welds, to connect ends to poles, channels, or other structural componentsOperate grinding equipment and other tools safely and effectively to prepare, finish, and repair welded componentsTrain, coach, and assist less experienced welders as neededLay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies using drawings, measurements, and specificationsPosition components in jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments, hand tools, and established work methodsInspect completed work for conformance to specifications, quality requirements, and applicable inspection standardsMaintain productivity, quality, and efficiency while supporting continuous improvement within the work areaFollow all standard safety practices, procedures, and company policiesMaintain accurate records and complete all required documentation in a timely mannerPerform other related duties as assigned to support plant operationsWhat you'll need:Minimum of 4 years of welding, fitting, or related fabrication experienceExperience with Flux Core welding processesCertification or demonstrated ability to perform horizontal and vertical weldsAbility to perform multi-pass welds with consistent qualityAbility to perform circumference, or "C," weldsAbility to qualify as a flat welderAbility to maintain a 90% pass rate on UT inspectionBasic understanding of Oxy Fuel and Plasma burning processesBasic understanding of Carbon Arcing processesConsistent and reliable attendanceCompensation and Benefits:Medical, Dental, and Vision InsurancePaid Vacation and Sick Time401k with Employer Match11 paid Company holidaysLife InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability InsuranceTuition ReimbursementHealth & Wellness ProgramsFlexible Spending AccountsEmployee Discount ProgramsProfessional Training and Development ProgramsCareer Advancement OpportunitiesPay range $31.00 to $36.00/hour - Commensurate with ExperienceEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
