Contract | Night Shift | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00–07:30 | Every Other Weekend Coverage Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients including those with diagnoses such as CAD status post CABG, cardiac valve repair, and post-surgical esophageal and lung cancer cases
• Monitor and manage patients on cardiac drips and insulin drips
• Perform and interpret EKG readings as required for unit competency
• Care for post-surgical cardiovascular patients, ensuring appropriate assessment and intervention
• Float to other units and campuses as needed based on census, within demonstrated competency areas
• Complete required pre-assignment modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a cardiac stepdown or equivalent unit (2 years preferred; 3 years within specialty required for first-time travelers)
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
• Must pass a pre-assignment EKG competency exam
• Experience with cardiac drips and insulin drips required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Omnicell medication management system
• Background caring for post-surgical cardiovascular patients including CABG and cardiac valve repair
• Familiarity with VATS and esophageal surgical patient populations
