Hours Per Week 40 Job Description We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant I to join our Occupational Health team. In this role, you will provide patient care under the direction of a physician in ambulatory and procedural settings, while supporting both clinical and administrative functions. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care—assisting with procedures, collecting and documenting health information, and helping guide patients through their care journey from admission to discharge. Key Responsibilities Provide basic patient care in accordance with Medical Assistant scope of practice Support physicians and clinical staff during examinations and procedures Collect, document, and maintain accurate patient health information Assist with patient intake, discharge, and education Perform point-of-care testing (POCT), immunizations, and injections as needed Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care Participate in staff meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives Promote patient safety, cultural competency, and a positive care environment Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, and colleagues Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR at least 1 year of recent direct patient care experience (within the last 3 years) Current certification as one of the following: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – AAMA Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – AMT Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – NHA Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required upon hire) Skills & Abilities Ability to perform clinical tasks such as POCT, immunizations, and injections Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work independently and problem‑solve effectively Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and patient safety practices Radiology certification or training (if applicable to role responsibilities) Work Environment & Patient Population This role may involve caring for patients across various age groups, depending on department needs, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
