Senior Portfolio Manager – National Healthcare Location Charlotte, North Carolina 28202 General Function The Portfolio Manager (PM) is a key member of the coverage team, managing transactions and business portfolio tasks. PMs are expected to be intimately involved in the deal process, making recommendations on appropriate credit structures, pricing, and other terms. PMs are directly accountable for managing a portfolio of accounts through review of updated financial statements, proactive monitoring, and interaction with the Credit Analyst. They are responsible for risk management, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the bank’s risk appetite, PMs achieve results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accountable for managing a portfolio of accounts. Review and recommend credit decisions. Partner with the Relationship Manager to meet with clients, assess prospective clients’ viability for credit, define borrowers and guarantors, structure deals, set credit terms and conditions, and determine collateral value. Generate commitment letters. Provide business partners credit lending policy interpretation. Perform final risk rating analysis. Capture and document credit decisions, conditions, and modifications. Collaborate with the Credit Analyst to establish and maintain Investor Group on lender portal, perform monitoring actions, conduct periodic deal reviews, and execute decisions to renew or modify deals. Communicate directly with clients regarding credit events and actions as needed. Work independently to pitch complex deal structures. Focus on continuous learning to keep up with changing market dynamics. Act as subject‑matter‑expert and mentor to more junior PMs and Credit Analysts. Leverage expertise to provide partners insights into the bank’s lines of business and related economics. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Bachelor’s degree in Business (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting). At least 8 years credit analysis and/or loan review experience in Commercial Banking with expertise in the Healthcare sector. Experience with nCino is a plus. Highly proficient analytical skills, critical thinking, and communication skills. Professional presence (client‑facing). Experience managing an advanced commercial client portfolio with significant complexity. Ability to partner with all deal stakeholders including clients, relationship managers, and credit teams. Expertise in financial and risk analysis, including financial modeling. Demonstrated expertise in using effective problem‑solving techniques. Proficient with technology and ability to learn new applications. Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like. Extended viewing of a CRT screen. Some travel required. Benefits The base salary for this position reflects the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skill set, relevant experience, education and geographic location.
