Med/Surg RN - Adults & Geriatrics

Schedule
Shift: 12-hour nights, 18:45-07:15
Weekend: Assigned every other weekend

Assignment Details
Duration: 13-26 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week

Requirements
- Minimum: 2 years RN experience
- License: NC or Compact license pending acceptable for submittal
- Required: BCLS (BLS), EPIC experience, ability to manage insulin and heparin drips
- Preferred: Charge nurse experience
- Clinical skills: Med/Surg care, peripheral line management, wound care/VAC, high-flow/respiratory support, dysrhythmia recognition

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical environment.
- Monitor vital signs and manage medication administration, including insulin and heparin drips.
- Conduct wound care and dressing changes, including the use of Wound VAC devices.
- Assist with respiratory support, including high-flow oxygen and short-term BiPAP.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records using EPIC and follow safety protocols.

Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Up to 7 days of RTO auto-approved (no holidays); no RTO during first week
- Mandatory modules: Non-billable modules expected (approx. 2-10 hours)
- Scrubs: Navy (not provided)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required; Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Candidate must complete required lab/testing within 48 hours of signing.
