Role: Software Development Engineer

Key Requirement: All proposed SDEs must have demonstrated experience with Amazon internal development tools and ecosystems, including but not limited to Amazon Pipelines, Ada Agent, MCP (Model Context Protocol), Quick Suite, and standard Amazon CI/CD practices.


Scope 1 - Continuous Integration/Deployment
1. Create necessary dedicated accounts/access in other tools for test execution
2. Write integration tests
3. Deploy and ensure tests are working correctly on pipelines
4. Integrate load tests as needed

Scope 2 - Enable MCP for Service Endpoints
1. Identify which APIs need to be exposed through MCP
2. Make necessary changes in the service to be MCP ready:
• Update metadata
• Include/exclude required fields
• Update field names for MCP to be able to parse them easily
• Update tool names that make sense for end users (not just expose raw API endpoints)
3. Enable MCP for service endpoints (multiple MCPs may be needed if a service performs more than one task)
4. Register MCP in Ada Agent/Quick Suite MCP registry
5. Create AgentCard to allow MCP to be used in Ada
6. Verify MCP works per requirement and resolve bugs

Scope 3 - Miscellaneous Operational Support
1. Regular manual deployment
2. Software updates, security and policy violation fixes (e.g., Policy Engine, SAS risks)
3. Minor defects
4. Low-severity operational tickets

Title: Software Development Engineer (SDE) - Platform Enablement & CI/CD Location: Remote - US-based

POSITION OVERVIEW The Operational Excellence (OE) Platform Enablement & CI/CD team is scaling its core platform infrastructure to support modern agentic AI integrations and robust deployment workflows. This team is responsible for standardizing continuous integration/deployment pipelines and enabling internal microservices for Model Context Protocol (MCP) consumption across corporate AI platforms, including Ada Agent and Quick Suite.


DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provision dedicated test accounts, access configurations, and test environments across native builder systems.
• Design, write, and execute comprehensive integration and load testing suites directly within Pipelines.
• Identify, refactor, and expose core microservice APIs to be Model Context Protocol (MCP) compliant.
• Update API metadata, fields, and tool naming schemas to ensure seamless endpoint parsing by AI agents.
• Register, enable, and maintain MCP endpoints across Ada Agent and Quick Suite MCP registries.
• Author AgentCards and custom agent descriptors to facilitate seamless agentic tool execution in Ada.
• Perform regular manual deployment support, dependency upgrades via Brazil version sets, and maintain pipeline health.
• Audit and remediate security and policy violations identified by Policy Engine and SAS compliance tools.
• Resolve low-severity operational tickets, minor defects, and technical debt items across platform services.

TOP 3 REQUIRED SKILLS

• Software Engineering / Java / C++ / TypeScript (5+ years)
• Hands-on Amazon Internal Builder Tools expertise: Brazil (Version Sets), Pipelines, Apollo, and Coral (3+ years)
• AI Agent Frameworks & Model Context Protocol (MCP) / Ada Agent / Quick Suite integration (1+ years)

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS

• Kiro IDE & BuilderHub environment experience

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE The ideal candidate is an experienced Amazon-native developer or seasoned ex-Amazonian SDE who possesses deep, hands-on familiarity with Amazon's proprietary build, versioning, and deployment stack (Brazil, Apollo, Pipelines). They thrive in platform engineering environments, have practical experience exposing microservice APIs for AI agent consumption via Model Context Protocol (MCP), and demonstrate a proactive mindset toward operational rigor and security compliance.
