Join the Blakemore Children’s Center team as an Infant/Toddler Teacher! We’re seeking a dedicated educator who is passionate about sparking wonder in children aged 6 weeks to 2.5 years old. Job Specifics

• Location: Our center is conveniently located in Nashville’s West End, adjacent to Elmington Park and easily accessible from 440.
• Age group: Primarily working with infants and toddlers aged 6 weeks to 2.5 years old in a mixed-age group setting.
• Teaching team: Collaborate with a team of 3-4 early childhood educators in a supportive and dynamic environment.

What to Expect

As a member of our team, you’ll create engaging experiences tailored to each child’s interests and passions. With predictable routines in place, you’ll have the flexibility to be creative and spontaneous. Your role includes supervising children to ensure their safety and well-being. Our classroom, located in a cozy house, provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and we make the most of our outdoor space on the playground.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent), pass a background and abuse registry check, and be eligible to work in the United States.
• A genuine passion for working with young children and a belief in their capabilities as active participants in their learning, coupled with a commitment to providing the best possible care.
• The ability to engage with children at their level, sing silly songs, and be playful.
• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills, valuing differences and working collaboratively.
• Flexibility and adaptability in diverse situations, with a willingness to take initiative and help out as needed.
• Self-motivation and a commitment to fulfilling responsibilities, with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Preferably, candidates with early childhood experience and education, especially in a Reggio-inspired school, but we are willing to train the right person!
