Vice President for Advancement

The client is seeking a Vice President for Advancement who will serve as the organization’s chief development officer, creating and leading a high-caliber advancement program aligned with the client’s mission, vision, and values. This role is expected to provide strategic focus, momentum, and leadership as the advancement function advances to the next level, including guiding the planning and execution of the client’s next comprehensive capital campaign. The Vice President for Advancement will partner closely with the client’s President, the Board of Trustees, and colleagues across the institution. The role emphasizes building trust and operating with the highest integrity, bringing teams together, communicating clearly, and fostering a team culture where people enjoy their work and each other. Fundraising is expected to be mission-driven and grounded in strong relationships. Candidates are expected to bring experience and leadership in higher education advancement, with the ability to shape strategy, lead planning and execution of major initiatives, and cultivate effective organizational relationships. They should be able to lead through clear communication and team-building, and demonstrate a strong commitment to mission-centered development and advancement leadership. Confidential
