Title: Lifestyle Coordinator (Activity Aide)

Status: Full Time

Shift: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, 1 evening/week, every other Saturday

What will I do as an employee with Redstone?

As an Activity Aide, supporting the Redstone mission will include the following responsibilities:

• Checks email and other appropriate resources daily for updated activity schedule/resident information and designs special events signs, announcements, and weekly schedule of lifestyle activities and posts them on bulletin boards.
• Plans and prepares for activities of the day, holidays and special events, purchases/orders necessary supplies, sets up activity areas, and cleans up area following activity.
• Invites residents to scheduled activities, including bus trips out of the facility, and escorts interested residents, if necessary.
• Conducts the activities scheduled each day for resident groups, one to one activities for individual residents and spontaneous events in a manner that promotes culture change and a home-like atmosphere.
• Charts resident information as it pertains to activities using the approved documentation method.
• Communicates, as needed, with staff in other departments to coordinate their involvement in activities and trips.
• Arranges with outside vendors to entertain or conduct programs with residents.
• Provides ADL assistance to residents during activities and outings, including but not limited to toileting assistance, dining assistance and mobility/transfer assistance.
• Respond to call bells as needed while on the nursing units.
• Reports any changes in Residents condition to the Charge Nurse immediately.

What do I need for this role with Redstone?

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Experience working with the aging population.
