Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive culinary experience, with strong kitchen leadership experience in an Indian restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, regional cooking techniques, spices, tandoor cooking, and traditional flavor profiles.
- Experience leading a culinary team in an upscale, high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong understanding of food quality, presentation, consistency, and kitchen sanitation.
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse culinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and operational skills, including prep, inventory, ordering, food cost, and kitchen management.
- Proven ability to maintain culinary standards while executing consistently in a high-volume service environment.
- Lead the day-to-day culinary operations.
- Oversee kitchen preparation and service, ensuring consistency, quality, and proper execution of the menu.
- Lead, train, and develop the culinary team while maintaining a positive and professional kitchen culture.
- Oversee mise en place, station readiness, food preparation, and execution of recipes and specifications.
- Maintain high standards for Indian culinary techniques, flavor, presentation, and product quality.
- Manage inventory, ordering, food cost, waste, and proper product storage.
- Work closely with the restaurant leadership team to maintain smooth service and strong overall operations.
- Help develop and refine menu items while maintaining the culinary identity and standards of the Ela concept.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment.
