Senior Tax Preparer - Fairfax, VA

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year + Annual Bonus
Job Type: Full-Time in Fairfax, VA

The Role

This is a manager-track position where you'll lead our tax team, oversee complex returns across multiple entity types, and directly shape how we serve our growing client base. We need someone who can hit the ground running with real supervisory chops and a hunger to grow into a full manager role as we expand. You'll spend your first six months fully onsite to get your feet under you, then transition to hybrid.

Job Duties

• Lead tax return preparation and review across individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and non-profit entities
• Oversee tax compliance processes and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations
• Manage tax audits and coordinate with regulatory agencies
• Advise clients on income tax strategy and tax planning initiatives
• Mentor staff to ensure timely, accurate tax return completion

What You Need

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or Master's in Accounting/Taxation)
• CPA or EA preferred
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting
• Expertise in flow-through entities (Partnerships, S-Corps) and individual taxation
• ProSystem fx Tax and MS Excel
