Sports Facility Manager

Our client, a premier sports complex in George , is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sports Facility Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of its state-of-the-art sports facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment for athletes, teams, and event attendees. You will be responsible for managing staff, coordinating event logistics, overseeing facility upkeep, and implementing strategies to enhance user experience and operational efficiency. This position requires a blend of operational expertise, leadership acumen, and a passion for sports and community engagement within the Western Cape region. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of all sports facilities, including fields, courts, and common areas. Supervise and schedule maintenance staff, custodial teams, and event support personnel. Develop and enforce facility usage policies and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment. Coordinate with event organizers to plan and execute sporting events, tournaments, and community gatherings. Oversee the maintenance and repair of all facility equipment and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Manage facility budgets, including revenue generation through rentals, concessions, and event fees. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility management, preferably in a sports or recreation setting. Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, operational planning, and budget management. Strong understanding of sports venue operations, event management, and health & safety regulations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for events.
