Apparel Product Manager

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join a growing apparel company in New York City. This hybrid role requires a minimum of three days per week in the office, with the possibility of up to five days per week during the initial 90-day training period. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in apparel product development, sourcing, production management, and supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities Product Development & Seasonal Planning Manage seasonal product development calendars to ensure all key milestones are achieved. Coordinate and support cross-functional product development meetings, including agenda preparation, action item tracking, and follow-up. Maintain accurate and up-to-date product development information within PLM systems. Track strike-offs, lab dips, fabric development, and sample progress while identifying potential timeline risks. Collaborate with internal teams to proactively address development challenges related to samples, materials, costing, lead times, and production readiness. Manage trim development activities with suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring timely approvals and execution. Develop and maintain calendars for bi-monthly artwork reviews and design development meetings to support seasonal planning and alignment. Product Execution & Compliance Ensure customer-specific requirements are understood, communicated, and executed, including testing, compliance, packaging, labeling, finishing, certifications, and quality standards. Support seasonal costing reviews by obtaining supplier quotations, reviewing submissions, and assisting with cost analysis. Maintain organized seasonal costing and development documentation by brand. Oversee production readiness by confirming all requirements are complete prior to order release. Production & Supply Chain Management Create and maintain bulk production style setups, purchase orders, and cutting lists. Monitor production status and coordinate issue resolution with factories, mills, and suppliers. Manage daily communication with factories, mills, trim vendors, and overseas partners. Partner with logistics teams to support shipment tracking and delivery coordination. Cross-Functional Collaboration Build and maintain strong working relationships across Sales, Design, Technical Design, Operations, Sourcing, Logistics, and overseas teams. Foster alignment across departments to support seasonal development and production objectives. Identify, communicate, and elevate risks that could impact timelines, quality, or business goals. Support strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned by the VP of Product Management & Operations. Qualifications Required 5+ years of experience in product development, sourcing, production management, or related apparel industry functions. Strong understanding of product development, sourcing, costing, manufacturing, and supply chain processes. Experience working with overseas factories, mills, and suppliers. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and seasonal timelines. Strong analytical skills, including evaluating costing, margins, and lead times. Proficiency with PLM and ERP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for tracking, reporting, and analysis. Strong communication and collaboration skills across internal and external partners. Detail-oriented with exceptional follow-through and accuracy. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Production, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience with YPLM and/or Blue Cherry systems. Background in swimwear, intimate apparel, or fashion apparel. Compensation: $85,000–$100,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
