Position Summary

DataOne Construction is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead procurement of electrical components, materials, and equipment supporting Data One Electric and our broader self-performing construction operations. This role requires hands-on experience buying for an electrical contractor or electrical builder — someone who understands electrical materials, supplier networks, and the pace of a construction job site, and who can keep crews stocked and projects on schedule across a national footprint.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase electrical components, materials, and equipment for active construction projects nationwide
• Build and maintain relationships with electrical suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to control project costs and protect margins
• Track material lead times and coordinate delivery schedules with project managers and field teams to prevent delays
• Monitor market pricing and availability trends for electrical commodities (copper, wire/cable, switchgear, etc.)
• Issue and manage purchase orders and vendor documentation in Procore and/or Odoo
• Partner with project managers, estimators, and field superintendents to forecast material needs
• Resolve vendor issues such as backorders, damaged goods, and invoice discrepancies
• Maintain accurate procurement records and support month-end cost reporting
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers without compromising quality or schedule

Qualifications

• 5+ years of buying/procurement experience with a focus on electrical components and materials
• Experience purchasing for an electrical contractor, electrical builder, or self-performing electrical construction division required
• Working knowledge of electrical materials — conduit, wire/cable, switchgear, panels, transformers, lighting, and low-voltage systems
• Experience with Procore and/or Odoo strongly preferred
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across a national footprint
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Construction Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience

Compensation & Benefits

• $75,000 – $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience
